MAKING DATA USEFUL

With our innovative and insightful technology, TotoRegister, a digital attendance system that is designed to take daily attendance of students and carefully analyzing the attendance data by age cluster and geographic
proximity to generate alerts that may indicate a risk of FGM. The system was designed and authored by Mack Muthomi Marangu in 2022 and was incubated at Enlightened Generation International in Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya. The system utilizes a mobile app that allows teachers to import student lists, mark attendance, and transmit the data securely to a backend server. The system is capable of analyzing the attendance data by age cluster and geographic proximity to generate alerts that may indicate a risk of FGM. The system also integrates with the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) and the National Health Management Information System (NHMIS) to provide a more comprehensive view of the data.
